Arrive at Port Blair in the afternoon and transfer to your hotel. After settling in and having lunch, embark on a visit to the iconic National Memorial – the Cellular Jail. Built in 1906 by the British, this three-story structure, designed for solitary confinement, stands as a testament to India’s freedom struggle. Often referred to as Kala Pani, it earned a notorious reputation for housing many freedom fighters who endured unimaginable hardships within its walls. Today, it is revered as a pilgrimage site for its historical significance.
In the evening, immerse yourself in the captivating Sound and Light Show at the Cellular Jail. This spectacular show vividly narrates the heroic tales of India’s fight for independence and highlights the indomitable spirit of its freedom fighters.
Overnight stay at Port Blair.
Start your day with a hearty breakfast before heading to Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Island (formerly Ross Island), the administrative capital during British rule over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Now managed by the Indian Navy, the island showcases the remnants of its colonial past, with old structures in ruins and a small museum called Smritika. This museum houses photographs and artifacts from the British era that provide insight into the island’s history. The island is also known for its friendly deer and scenic green walking trails.
After exploring Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Island, continue your journey to North Bay, also known as Coral Island. This destination is renowned for its vibrant coral reefs and marine life. Visitors can indulge in optional activities such as a glass-bottom boat ride, snorkeling, sea walking, or scuba diving to get a closer look at the underwater beauty (at additional cost).
Return to Port Blair in the evening for an overnight stay.
Begin your day with an early breakfast and transfer to the jetty to board a cruise to Swaraj Dweep (Havelock Island), located approximately 54 kilometers northeast of Port Blair. Known as a tropical paradise, Swaraj Dweep spans around 86 square kilometers and is famed for its crystal-clear waters, making it one of the world’s top destinations for snorkeling and scuba diving. With nearly 1,000 species of marine life, including colorful coral reefs, sea slugs, nudibranchs, ghost pipefish, jawfish, and a variety of crustaceans, the island offers a mesmerizing underwater experience.
Upon arrival at Swaraj Dweep Jetty, a representative will greet and assist you. Then, proceed to the breathtaking Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7), the crown jewel of Havelock Island. Nestled on the western side of the island, this stunning white sand beach earned global acclaim when Time magazine named it Asia’s best beach in 2004. Framed by lush tropical forests and rolling hills, Radhanagar Beach offers a serene escape far from the crowds, perfect for relaxation or exploring its expansive shores.
After enjoying the scenic beauty and tranquil atmosphere, transfer to your hotel in Havelock for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, set off for a memorable excursion to Elephant Beach or Light House Beach via a shared fiber speedboat. Just a 30-minute ride from the island, these beaches are renowned for their calm, crystal-clear waters, making them ideal for snorkeling enthusiasts and first-timers alike.
At the beach, you have the option to indulge in a variety of water activities such as glass-bottom boat rides, snorkeling, sea walking, or scuba diving (additional cost) to explore the vibrant coral reefs and marine life. Alternatively, you can relax on the pristine white sands, soak in the scenic beauty, or capture stunning photographs of the picturesque surroundings, complete with fallen trees and azure waters. The reef here begins just a meter from the shore, offering an excellent opportunity to witness its thriving marine ecosystem.
In the afternoon, as per the ferry schedule, transfer to the Swaraj Dweep Jetty for your return journey to Port Blair by ferry. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by our representative at the Port Blair Jetty and transferred to your hotel.
Overnight stay at Port Blair.
After breakfast, check out from your hotel and head to Wandoor Beach, located about 30 kilometers from Port Blair. The scenic drive takes you through areas transformed by the 2004 tsunami, where former paddy fields are now water-filled landscapes resembling serene lakes. These areas have become a haven for migratory wetland birds, making it a delightful spot for bird watchers.
Spend some time soaking in the natural beauty and tranquility of Wandoor Beach before proceeding to the airport for your departure.
Return home with cherished memories of a wonderful holiday in the Andaman Islands.
