Day 1: Journey to Seoul

Take an overnight flight from the UK to the vibrant city of Seoul.

Upon landing in Seoul, a local representative will greet you at the airport and take you to your hotel. The rest of the evening is free for you to relax and explore at your own pace.

After breakfast, embark on a full-day city tour of Seoul. Start by visiting Insadong, a street full of antiques that blends Korea’s rich past with its modern culture. Explore landmarks like Cheongwadae, the Presidential House, Gwanghwamun Square, and the majestic Gyeongbokgung Palace, where you’ll witness the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony. Experience the traditional charm of Bukchon Hanok Village with its quaint-style cafes, then head to the lively Myeongdong Shopping District. Today, travel to the Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ) and Panmunjom, also known as the Joint Security Area (JSA), to witness the historic border that separates North and South Korea. Visit Freedom Bridge, the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, and take in the view of North Korea from the Dora Observatory. After the tour, return to your hotel and enjoy some free time in the evening. After breakfast, head to Yongin, a bustling city close in size to Seoul. Explore the Korean Folk Village, where you’ll find 240 traditional houses and experience daily performances, including Farmer’s Music and Dance, Tightrope Acrobatics, Equestrian Feats, and a Traditional Wedding Ceremony. Later, continue your journey to Boeun, near Mt. Songnisan, where you will stay overnight.

Start your day with a visit to Mt. Songnisan, where you’ll explore the peaceful Beopjusa Temple. Continue to Haeinsa Temple, known as the Temple of the Ocean Mudra, one of Korea’s Three Jewel Temples. Haeinsa represents the teachings of Buddha, and it remains an active center for Seon practice. It was also the home temple of the revered Rev. Seongcheol. After a day of reflection, head to Daegu for a restful overnight stay.

Begin your day with a tour of Daegu, one of Korea’s major cities. Visit the Yangnyeongsi Museum of Oriental Medicine and stroll down the Street of Oriental Medicine for a unique cultural experience. Afterward, continue your journey to Gyeongju, known as Seorabeol, a historic coastal city in South Korea’s southeastern region. After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your journey back to the UK. Your arrival will be either later today or the following day, depending on your flight time.
