Oman Highlights

Oman, located on the southeastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula, is renowned for its rich cultural heritage, diverse landscapes, and warm hospitality. Visitors can explore historic forts, pristine beaches, and the unique desert landscapes of Wahiba Sands. The capital city, Muscat, offers a blend of modernity and tradition, with bustling souks and contemporary architecture. The Dhofar region, especially during the khareef monsoon season, transforms into a lush green paradise, attracting nature enthusiasts. Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or cultural immersion, Oman provides a memorable experience.

Day 1: Arrival in Muscat

Catch your flight to Muscat, the vibrant capital of Oman.

Upon your arrival at Muscat International Airport, a representative will greet you and take you to your hotel. Check-in is available from 14:00 hrs. Afterward, enjoy some free time to relax and unwind at your hotel. Overnight stay in Muscat.

We begin our day with a visit to the Grand Mosque, a remarkable example of Arabian Islamic design (please note that women must cover their heads and shoulders, while men should wear trousers). Afterward, we’ll drive along the scenic Corniche, stopping for photos at the stunning Al Alam Palace, the official residence of Sultan Qaboos. We’ll also take a photo stop at the historic 16th-century Portuguese forts, Mirani and Jalali. Next, we’ll explore the vibrant Muttrah Souq, where you can browse through an oriental market filled with unique goods. In the afternoon, relax on a 2-hour sunset cruise, taking in the breathtaking views of Muscat’s coastline. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Today, we journey to the historic city of Nizwa, once the capital of the Julanda Dynasty during the 6th and 7th centuries. Nizwa is famous for its rich history, remarkable buildings, and towering fort. Our first stop will be Nizwa Fort, a massive 17th-century structure built by Imam Sultan Bin Saif Al Ya’aruba to protect the route to the interior. The fort’s round tower offers a stunning panoramic view of the surrounding area, accessible via a narrow, winding staircase. Afterward, we’ll visit the Nizwa Souq, known for its beautifully crafted “Khanjar” daggers and exquisite silver jewelry, with a lively goat and cattle auction held on Fridays.

On our way to Jabrin, we’ll pause for a photo opportunity at Bahla Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Once in Jabrin, we’ll explore the 17th-century Jabrin Castle, a masterpiece of Omani architecture that once served as a center of learning. The castle features meticulously planned rooms, including the “Walli” (ladies room), kitchen, and “Majlis” (meeting room), with ceilings adorned in beautiful Islamic paintings. We’ll also visit the ruins of Tanuf and learn about the ancient Falaj water irrigation system still in use today. Overnight stay in Nizwa

Our day begins with a visit to the charming village of Birkat Al Mauz, where we will take a 30-minute walk through its lush oasis and expansive date plantations. Next, we head to the Sinaw Souq, a vibrant market where you can experience local culture and shop for unique items.

From there, we make our way to the entry point of Wahiba Sands, the stunning desert known as “Rumlat Al Wahiba.” Hop into a 4×4 vehicle for an exciting ride across the vast dunes, some reaching up to 200 meters high. Your expert driver will guide you through the undulating terrain, adding an adventurous twist to the journey. After the thrilling dune drive, we will arrive at the Al Raha Camp. As the sun sets, enjoy a peaceful evening under the stars, sipping traditional Omani coffee (Kahawa).

After breakfast at the camp, we leave behind the serene desert life and head towards Wadi Bani Khalid, a stunning oasis nestled amidst barren mountains. Here, you can enjoy the sight of crystal-clear, turquoise-blue pools of fresh water, perfect for a relaxing break. Spend some time soaking in the peaceful atmosphere and natural beauty.

Next, we continue our journey to Sur, a historic port city located at Oman’s eastern tip. Sur has a rich maritime history, and its shipyards still craft traditional wooden vessels, continuing a legacy that has shaped the city’s past. After exploring the area, we’ll overnight in Sur.

We begin our day with a scenic drive along the coastline from Sur to Quriyat, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of the blue Gulf of Oman waters, complemented by pristine white beaches. Along the way, we stop to see the ruins of Qalhat, including the Bibi Mariam shrine. The shrine is named after an elderly woman believed to have built a mosque, with some tales claiming she was a governor during the reign of King Hormuz.

Next, we visit the stunning Wadi Shaab, known for its natural pools and impressive backdrop of towering mountains. After this refreshing stop, we pass through Quriyat, a large fishing village with a port still protected by an ancient watchtower. Finally, we return to Muscat for an overnight stay at your hotel.

After a leisurely breakfast, we will head to the airport for your flight back home. Alternatively, you can choose to extend your stay and relax on the beautiful beaches of the Indian Ocean before your return journey.

Nestled against rugged canyon cliffs, Oman showcases mountain villages, while its plantation oases brim with the weight of ripened dates. A gentle gust of wind sweeps across the desert dunes, and a solitary camel wanders through the vast expanse of the arid heartland. These stunning sights define the allure of this captivating and mysterious land.
