Built by the British in 1906, it is a poignant reminder of the sacrifices made during the fight for independence and is now a national memorial. The jail has witnessed unimaginable suffering endured by its inmates, who were mostly freedom fighters.
In the evening, experience the captivating Sound and Light Show at the Cellular Jail. The show narrates the heroic saga of the Indian freedom struggle, bringing to life the intense sacrifices of the freedom fighters. The Light and Sound Show offers a powerful and emotional connection to the jail’s historical significance.
