Phuentsholing: Arrival, transfer, sightseeing
pon arrival at Bagdogra, you’ll be picked up and driven to Phuentsholing, the gateway to Bhutan. Upon reaching, our guide will assist you with immigration procedures before checking in at the hotel. Along the way, savor the scenic Dooars Tea Garden, marvel at the Coronation Bridge spanning the Teesta River, and pass through Jaigaon Town, a vital link between India and Phuentsholing. Once checked in, explore the charming town of Phuentsholing, visit the Zangdopelri Monastery nestled in its heart, and later, indulge in local cuisines at nearby restaurants. Thimphu: Transfer, sightseeing
After breakfast at your hotel after which you will leave for Thimphu. Along the way, explore Gedu Town, home to the Gedu College of Business Studies, and enjoy the scenic Wangkha Waterfall View. Upon arrival, check-in at the hotel and continue your exploration with visits to iconic landmarks like Buddha Point (Kuensel Phodrang), the King’s Memorial Chorten, Coronation Park, and the Government-run Handicrafts Emporium with its vibrant local crafts bazaar. After breakfast, start your day by visiting the Takin Preserve Centre, a mini zoo for Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin. Explore the serene Changangkha Monastery, followed by a visit to the Simply Bhutan Museum, which brings the lifestyle of Bhutanese people to life. Discover the treasures of the National Library and Bhutan Postal Museum, then witness the traditional art of paper-making at the Jhungshi Handmade Paper Factory. After breakfast, drive to Paro and go for the Hike to the Tak-tshang(Tiger’s Nest) Monastery (900 feet above the ground level) perched in between the cliff and one of the most popular pilgrimage sites and hiking trails. The Monastery commands a beautiful view of the valleys surrounding and below it. Evening time can be spent exploring handicrafts & gift stores to purchase gifs and mementos to remember the memorable trip to Bhutan later in your life. Overnight stay at the hotel in Paro.
Phuentsholing – Sightseeing and transfer
Start your day with an early breakfast, and then head to explore Ta Dzong, Rinpung Dzong, and Drugyel Dzong. Afterward, continue your journey to Phuentsholing, making stops along the way to visit Tachog Lhakhang and Kharbandi Goenpa. Once you arrive, check-in at your hotel for an overnight stay in Phuentsholing.
