From the bustling streets of Tokyo to the serene temples of Kyoto, there’s something for every traveler. Day 1: Depart for Japan

Fly to Tokyo, the bustling capital of Japan.

Upon arrival in Tokyo, a representative will greet you and take you to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy the rest of the day at leisure to relax. Overnight stay in Tokyo.

Start your day with a visit to the Tokyo Metropolitan Tower, Japan’s tallest government building, standing at about 243 meters. Then, explore Asakusa Kannon, Tokyo’s oldest Buddhist temple. Afterward, stroll through the Nakamise Shopping Arcade, one of Japan’s earliest shopping streets, and visit Ginza, Tokyo’s upscale shopping district, known for its high real estate prices. Enjoy some free time for lunch. In the afternoon, head to the Imperial Palace, where you’ll view the exterior gates. The day concludes with a visit to Odaiba, a manmade island in Tokyo Bay, initially created for defense. We’ll cross the iconic Rainbow Bridge and explore the island, where you’ll see a replica of the Statue of Liberty and other famous structures. Overnight stay in Tokyo.

After breakfast, depart for Kamakura and the nearby suburb of Hase. Here, you’ll see the Great Buddha at Kotokuin Temple, a bronze statue standing 37 feet tall and dating back to 1252. Next, take a stroll along Wakamiya-Oji, a pathway lined with cherry trees leading to Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine. The shrine features red Torii gates, an arched bridge, serene ponds, a giant ginkgo tree, and the vibrant Main Hall atop 60 stone steps. Afterward, enjoy free time at Komachi Shopping Street, known for its arts and crafts shops, and have lunch. Post-lunch (not included), head to Yokohama, Japan’s sister city to Mumbai. Explore Chinatown and then visit Yamashita Park. In the park, you’ll find a water fountain donated by the Indian community in memory of the earthquake, a statue of a girl with red shoes, and several other fascinating sculptures. Later, return to Tokyo for the evening.

After breakfast, head towards Mt. Fuji. The coach will take you up to the 5th Station, the highest accessible point on the mountain, depending on weather conditions. Standing at 3,776 meters, Mt. Fuji is Japan’s tallest peak, a perfectly symmetrical volcano revered as a sacred site and admired by artists and travelers alike. After lunch (not included), continue to the volcanic area of Hakone, specifically Owakudani, known for its geothermal activity. Enjoy a short cruise on Lake Ashi, which offers stunning views of Mt. Fuji and is famous for its hot springs. Overnight stay in the Hakone region.

After breakfast, depart for Nagoya. On the way, stop at the Shizuoka Tea Museum, where you can experience a traditional tea ceremony. After lunch in Nagoya, visit the Toyota Museum, showcasing the history and innovations of this world-renowned automobile brand. Overnight stay in Nagoya.

After breakfast, experience Japan’s fastest train system, the Shinkansen, as you travel from Nagoya to Hiroshima. Upon arrival, take a ferry to Miyajima Island, famous for the UNESCO-listed Itsukushima Shrine and its iconic red “floating” torii gate, which appears to rise from the sea at high tide. Enjoy a walk around the island and some free time for lunch. In the evening, return to Hiroshima by ferry for dinner. Overnight stay in Hiroshima.

After breakfast, enjoy a walking tour of Hiroshima. Visit the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park, dedicated to the victims of the atomic bomb dropped on the city on August 6, 1945, and promoting global peace. Next, explore the Peace Memorial Museum, which vividly depicts the devastating effects of the bomb on the city and its people. Also, view the Atomic Bomb Dome from the outside, one of the few structures near the blast epicenter that partially survived. After lunch (not included), take a bullet train to Himeji. Upon arrival, take a bus tour to view the Himeji Castle from the outside. Continue to Kobe, where you’ll enjoy a city tour, visiting the Kobe Castle (from outside), Kobe Tower, Maiko Marine Promenade, and Meriken Park. Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Kobe.

Arrive back home, bringing with you wonderful memories of your journey through the enchanting landscapes and cultural treasures of India and Bhutan. Welcome back!

After breakfast, travel to Kyoto. Upon arrival, embark on a city tour starting with the Kinkakuji Temple (Golden Pavilion), dedicated to the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy, Kannon. Next, head to the Gion District, where you’ll have free time for lunch (not included). After lunch, visit Nishiki Market, known for its variety of traditional goods and food. Finally, explore the Fushimi Inari Shrine, famous for its endless rows of vermilion torii gates that lead through a network of trails behind the shrine’s main buildings. Overnight stay in Kyoto.

After breakfast, travel to Nara to visit the Nara Deer Park, where you can enjoy the sight of deer grazing peacefully on the lawns. Inside the park, visit the Todai-ji Temple and admire the Kofuku-ji Temple (from outside), along with other historic landmarks that highlight the city’s rich history. The park is also home to charming streams and ponds. Next, head to Osaka, where you’ll see the Osaka Castle from the outside and take a walking tour of the lively Dotonbori area. After dinner, check into your hotel for an overnight stay in Osaka.

After breakfast, visit the open-air museum showcasing traditional Japanese farmhouses. In the afternoon, depending on your flight time, enjoy some free time for last-minute shopping at Shinsaibashi. Later, transfer to the airport for your flight back home.
