Day 1: Journey to Kilimanjaro

Begin your adventure by boarding your overnight flight to Kilimanjaro Airport, Tanzania, on a Sunday.

Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport on Monday, completing your immigration and customs procedures. You’ll then be transferred to your hotel in Arusha, with check-in available after 2 pm. If time allows, you can take an optional trip to Arusha National Park, where you can explore the montane forests in search of black and white colobus monkeys, or simply unwind at the hotel after your long flight.

Today, set off towards Tarangire National Park, the sixth largest in Tanzania, covering an area of 2,850 km². This park is famous for its large elephant herds, towering baobab trees, tree-climbing lions, and a variety of wildlife including zebras, wildebeests, giraffes, waterbucks, and olive baboons. The diverse landscape and vegetation here are unique to the northern safari circuit. Upon arrival at your lodge, enjoy a delicious lunch before heading out for an afternoon safari, spotting the incredible wildlife that calls this park home. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon to relax, soaking in the sounds and beauty of the African bush. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After a hearty breakfast, head out towards Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s oldest national park and a UNESCO World Heritage site. Spanning 14,750 km², the Serengeti is part of the Mara-Serengeti ecosystem. This iconic park is home to the “Big Five” – the Masai lion, African leopard, African bush elephant, black rhinoceros, and the famous wildebeests – along with countless other wildlife. Travel through the Ngorongoro Conservancy and enjoy a scenic lunch break. Afterward, continue your journey to Serengeti, taking in the expansive savannah and spotting wildlife along the way during an exciting game drive. Arrive at your lodge in the late afternoon to unwind and enjoy the facilities. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Today, enjoy a full day of game viewing with a packed lunch, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the vast landscapes and breathtaking beauty of Serengeti. Witness the rich wildlife and unique scenery as you explore the park. Return to your lodge in the late afternoon, where the rest of the evening is yours to relax. Share stories of the day’s adventures with fellow travelers around a cozy fire at a traditional Boma. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast, depart for the Ngorongoro Crater Conservancy, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) is home to the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera, Ngorongoro Crater, often referred to as one of Africa’s Seven Natural Wonders. The unique vegetation here supports a rich diversity of wildlife. Enjoy a full day of exploration with a picnic lunch along the way. Arrive at your lodge in the conservancy by the late afternoon, where you can unwind and take in the stunning atmosphere of the crater. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

Today, embark on a full-day game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, with a picnic lunch at the crater’s base. Descend 2,200 feet into this magnificent caldera, the world’s second-largest, aboard 4-wheel drive vehicles for an unforgettable safari experience. Over 30,000 animals, including wildebeests, elephants, lions, dik-diks, and warthogs, call the crater home, while the lakeside is a haven for pelicans, ibis, and flamingos. After a day of exploration, return to the lodge in the early evening. Spend the rest of the evening relaxing and watching the sun set over the crater’s rim. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.

After breakfast, depart from the Ngorongoro Crater and head back to Arusha for a relaxing lunch. Following lunch, you’ll be transferred to the airport for your overnight flight back to the UK. Alternatively, you can choose to extend your adventure with a visit to Zanzibar.
Today, you head back home, concluding your incredible adventure in Tanzania. Safe travels as you return with unforgettable memories from your journey.

Embark on a truly unforgettable journey as you explore the vast Ngorongoro Crater, one of the world’s largest calderas, and marvel at the lions lounging on trees in Tarangire.
