Victoria Falls Livingstone - Extension
Victoria Falls, located on the Zambezi River, is one of the most spectacular natural wonders in the world, straddling the border between Zambia and Zimbabwe. Livingstone, Zambia’s tourist hub, is the gateway to this incredible site. Visitors can enjoy breathtaking views, thrilling activities like bungee jumping, and safaris to spot wildlife in nearby national parks. Perfect for nature lovers and adventure seekers, this region offers unforgettable experiences.
Day 1: Arrival in Livingstone
Start your journey with a morning flight from O.R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg to Harry Mwanga Nkumbula International Airport in Livingstone, Zambia. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel for check-in. Spend the rest of the day at your own pace—either relax or opt for an exciting helicopter ride over the iconic Victoria Falls (available during the dry season, June to November, when water levels are lower). In the evening, enjoy a serene sunset cruise along the Zambezi River. (This cruise can be scheduled for either Day 1 or Day 2). Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Exploring Victoria Falls and Local Culture
After breakfast, take a short stroll to the renowned Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, where you’ll witness the magnificent Victoria Falls. Known locally as “Mosi-Oa-Tunya,” or “smoke that thunders,” you’ll hear the roar and see the mist before the falls come into view. Victoria Falls, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is 1,708 meters wide, making it the largest waterfall in the world by curtain size. During the rainy season, up to half a million liters of water flow over the falls every minute. Later, immerse yourself in the local culture with a visit to the African Art and Craft Village, where you can pick up unique souvenirs. In the evening, enjoy a relaxing sunset cruise on the Zambezi River (this can be done on either Day 1 or Day 2), or simply unwind for the rest of the evening. Overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Departure from Livingstone
After a final breakfast, you’ll be transferred to the airport based on your flight schedule for your return journey to Johannesburg. Safe travels and we hope you’ve had a memorable trip!
