From Hanoi’s old quarter to the scenic Ha Long Bay, there’s something for everyone. Perfect for family vacations and city breaks, Vietnam promises an enriching and diverse travel experience.

Day 1: Departure from the UK

Begin your journey with a flight from London to the vibrant city of Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam. Get ready to explore a destination full of culture, history, and exciting experiences.

Upon arrival in Ho Chi Minh City, you’ll be welcomed at the airport and transferred to your hotel for early check-in. Take some time to relax and recover from your flight.

After lunch, begin your city tour of this historic former capital of French Indochina. Visit iconic landmarks such as the Old Saigon Post Office, the Notre Dame Cathedral, and the Opera House. Next, head to the Reunification Palace, once the headquarters of the Saigon Government during the 1960s.

Conclude the day with a visit to the War Remnants Museum, which displays a thought-provoking collection of photos and documents from the Vietnam-American War. Be prepared for an emotional experience as you explore the exhibits.

Leave Ho Chi Minh City behind as you set off for the vibrant Cai Be in the Mekong Delta. Explore the bustling floating market, where boats are filled with fresh fruits and vegetables. Stop by local workshops to see how traditional treats like rice paper, coconut candy, pop-rice, and popcorn are made.

Relax as a rowing boat takes you through peaceful canals, offering a glimpse of countryside life with wooden houses and palm-leaf roofs. Enjoy lunch and sample local fruits while listening to traditional music. In the afternoon, take a scenic cruise to Vinh Long City before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City by road.

Start the day with a visit to the fascinating Cu Chi Tunnels, an extensive network of tunnels used by the Vietcong during the war. Spanning nearly 250 km, these tunnels offered shelter, storage, and living spaces for over 16,000 fighters. Built in 1948, they were vital for the Vietcong’s survival against French and American forces. If you wish, you can enter the tunnels to experience the tough conditions faced by the guerrillas.

After the tour, return to Ho Chi Minh City by early afternoon and head to the airport for your flight to Danang. Upon arrival, visit the Cham Museum to discover the region’s ancient culture, then transfer to your hotel in Hoi An. (If the Cham Museum is not visited today, it will be included on Day 6.)

In the morning, enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its beautifully preserved streets and historic homes. Wander through charming cobblestone lanes, discovering ancient Chinese houses over 200 years old. Key attractions include the Japanese Bridge, the Chinese Temple, and the Phung Hung trading house, built in the traditional Chinese style.

The rest of the day is free for you to explore at your own pace, whether for shopping or simply soaking in the scenic beauty of Hoi An.

In the afternoon, you have the option to embark on a Golden Bridge tour at Ba Na Hills. Take a cable car to the mountain summit and enjoy a scenic walk to the Golden Bridge, renowned for its unique design supported by giant hands.
