Escape the city heat with our revitalizing Pune-Mahabaleshwar tour package, a 4-day retreat into the lush Sahyadri Mountains. This carefully planned itinerary takes you from the cultural hub of Pune to the “Strawberry Capital of India,” featuring serene boat rides on Venna Lake, historical explorations of Pratapgarh Fort, and panoramic views from the highest peaks of the Western Ghats. Perfect for families and couples, this package offers a seamless blend of misty hill station charm, colonial heritage, and the freshest forest-to-table experiences.

Day 1: Arrival in Pune & Transfer to Lonavala

Arrive at Pune Airport or Railway Station and meet your tour manager. Begin your journey with a scenic drive to the nearby hill station of Lonavala. After checking into your hotel, spend the afternoon exploring local attractions like the Bhushi Dam or the Tiger’s Leap viewpoint. Enjoy the cool evening breeze at leisure.

  • Overnight stay in Lonavala.

After breakfast, check out and enjoy a 4-hour scenic drive toward Mahabaleshwar. Upon arrival and check-in, head to the iconic Venna Lake, an artificial marvel built in 1842. Enjoy a relaxing boat ride, horseback riding along the banks, or local street food at the lake-side stalls. Later, visit the Panchganga Temple, where five holy rivers originate.

  • Overnight stay in Mahabaleshwar.

Travel to the 17th-century Pratapgarh Fort, the site of the legendary battle between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Afzal Khan. Walk through its historic gates and enjoy sweeping valley views. In the afternoon, treat your taste buds at Mapro Garden, famous for its strawberry shakes and fruit products. Visit the Mahabaleshwar Temple (Old Mahabaleshwar) to see its classic Hemadpanti architecture.

  • Overnight stay in Mahabaleshwar.

Check out and head toward the twin hill station, Panchgani. Visit the vast volcanic plateau known as Table Land (the second longest in Asia) and capture photos at Parsi Point. Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is the best time of year for this tour?

While Mahabaleshwar is a year-round destination, December to February offers the best weather for sightseeing and coincides with the peak strawberry season. The Monsoon (July–September) is also spectacular for seeing the waterfalls in full flow, though trekking can be slippery.

Yes, this itinerary is flexible. Many travelers prefer to head directly from Pune to Mahabaleshwar on Day 1 to maximize their time in the strawberry farms and viewpoints.

The fort requires a moderate amount of walking and climbing stairs. It is generally manageable for most travelers, but comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. For those with limited mobility, the lower sections still offer beautiful views.

Aside from fresh strawberries (in season), you should look for Mapro jams and squashes, locally made honey, and handcrafted Kolhapuri chappals or leather footwear from the main market.
