Frequently Asked Questions
1. What is the best time of year for this tour?
While Mahabaleshwar is a year-round destination, December to February offers the best weather for sightseeing and coincides with the peak strawberry season. The Monsoon (July–September) is also spectacular for seeing the waterfalls in full flow, though trekking can be slippery.
2. Can we customize the Lonavala stay to spend more time in Mahabaleshwar?
Yes, this itinerary is flexible. Many travelers prefer to head directly from Pune to Mahabaleshwar on Day 1 to maximize their time in the strawberry farms and viewpoints.
3. Is the Pratapgarh Fort difficult to climb?
The fort requires a moderate amount of walking and climbing stairs. It is generally manageable for most travelers, but comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended. For those with limited mobility, the lower sections still offer beautiful views.
4. What are the "must-buy" souvenirs in Mahabaleshwar?
Aside from fresh strawberries (in season), you should look for Mapro jams and squashes, locally made honey, and handcrafted Kolhapuri chappals or leather footwear from the main market.
