Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is it better to travel from Mumbai to Aurangabad by flight or train?

A flight is the fastest option (approx. 1 hour), maximizing your sightseeing time. However, there are several overnight trains and well-connected highways if you prefer a more scenic or budget-friendly land journey.

Comfortable walking shoes are essential as you will be exploring uneven rock surfaces. We recommend modest, breathable cotton clothing. At the Grishneshwar Temple (near Ellora), men may be required to remove their shirts to enter the inner sanctum.

Including Mumbai allows you to experience the contrast between India’s modern economic hub and its ancient spiritual roots. The 5-day duration ensures you have enough time to travel to the remote Ajanta site without feeling rushed.

Photography is generally permitted at both Ajanta and Ellora. However, the use of flash is strictly prohibited inside the Ajanta Caves to protect the ancient natural pigments of the paintings. Tripods may also require special permission.
