Day 1 – Welcome to Helsinki

Helsinki kick-starts your hunt for the mystical Northern Lights. On arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Take time to freshen up before joining your Local Specialist for a city sightseeing tour followed by a Welcome Reception.

Today, fly north from Helsinki across the Arctic Circle to Ivalo. From here, enjoy a short drive to the enchanting snowy village of Saariselkä, where you will stay for the next two nights.

Enjoy a relaxed day in the picturesque Arctic village of Saariselkä. You may choose from optional adventures such as snowshoeing along the scenic Aurora Path or a thrilling snowmobiling experience across the frozen Ivalo River. As night falls, opt for a magical Northern Lights hunt.

Travel north to Jokkmokk, an important cultural centre for the indigenous Sámi people. Visit the Ájtte Museum and gain insight into Sámi heritage during a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® experience. Enjoy a traditional Sámi meal as part of a Be My Guest experience before continuing to Kiruna.
